Welcome to my website! Suzabelle is named in honor of my grandmother Bessie. She and i spent hours and hours together while she taught me to sew at age 13, and she gave me the nickname Suzabelle. I wanted to name the business after her, but she never liked her own name! Suzabelle was my way of keeping her a part of it.

The business began about 4 years ago, with the creation of barkcloth purses, then branching out into the book bags. Vintage books and/or fabric are always used to make the purses, and certainly vintage buttons. Both types of purses
have evolved over the years, and will continue to evolve, because that's what art is all about! My purses are one of a kind When someone lights up at finding the perfect purse, that's the best part!
